Just get to Jesus

Where all the answers are…

I’ve got this idea that if I can just get people to Jesus, He’ll take care of everything else. It doesn’t matter what the issue is. It doesn’t matter what’s going on. If I can get them to Jesus, He’ll take care of it. A lot of people don’t take the time to spend time with Jesus. They have a lot of other stuff going on. They have a lot of other issues going on. Then that time to spend with Jesus becomes a low priority. They don’t see the benefit in their lives.

I mean if people knew the value of spending time with Jesus, they would spend time with Him, right?

So how do we transform people’s lives, knowing how, and why to spend time with Jesus?

Demonstrate

One, I think that we need to exemplify a life of spending time with Jesus. We can demonstrate it in our daily lives by prioritizing our time with Him. Our communities can be structured to begin encouraging each other to make time with Jesus the number one thing in our lives.

Wait

Two, we need to walk people through how to actually spend time with Jesus. A lot of people will go and pray, and then right after they list off their prayer requests, they’ll run off. I think the Lord sits there going “hey, I have an answer for you, but you’ve already run off.” So we have to teach people how to sit, listen, and wait on the Lord.

Teach

Three, we need to not be afraid of teaching encounter with the Lord. We teach people how to teach, evangelize, give, help, pastor, and a myriad of other things. None of those things make any sense to do without having first spent time with Jesus. Everything we do in life flows from life with and in Christ.

He Will Sort It Out

Let’s just get people to Jesus, and He will sort it out. It doesn’t matter what’s going on. Be with Jesus, and He will lead you, guide you, and give you everything you need for life and godliness.
